Compassion Teams
Do you have a heart to volunteer and serve in your community?
You can make a difference starting today!
We are forming Compassion Teams in the 15068 tri-city area and the surrounding communities.
There will be a Compassion Team for each day of the week, Monday thru Saturday. If yours is a Monday Team, your team would be our quick response volunteers to help meet urgent needs in your area. There will also be some “scheduled” needs with lead time on any given day like a ride to a doctor’s appointment, for example.
Are you a member of a:
- church; youth, men’s or women’s group;
- home group;
- club or organization;
- business;
- social group;
- school or university;
- team;
- or, a group of close friends?
You can form a Compassion Team and join us in matching human and tangible resources with the needs of your neighbors.
Here are some of the ways we are already serving our neighbors:
- Housing and shelter - for homeless and those fleeing abuse, rehabbing properties
- Feeding and Food – delivering food, preparing meals, hosting holiday & community dinners
- Transportation – for those without vehicles, homeless, homebound
- Building, Construction & Repair work - homes remodels, renovations
- Employment & Jobs – creating relationships with employers, application help
- Child Care – emergency and scheduled care
- Furniture and appliances – providing these for people in need and the elderly
- Visitation – spending time with those we serve
- Gardening and growing food – coming community garden and indoor growing
- Kids backpack program – providing weekend meals for hungry kids
So, form a Compassion Team for a day of the week or form one around one of the services mentioned directly above. We always have ongoing projects which need volunteer help.
